Thirty Eighth Meeting of the Transpennine Topology Triangle

DEDICATED TO POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS!

THIS MEETING WILL BE GEARED TO THE NEEDS OF BEGINNING POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS IN ALGEBRAIC TOPOLOGY, AND WILL CONSIST OF TWO MICRO-COURSES GIVEN BY RENOWNED EXPOSITORS OF THE SUBJECT!

Everyone else is welcome, of course, not least on the grounds that it is beneficial for existing staff and established students to get to know the newcomers who grace our three departments.

The afternoon schedule will be a little more crowded than usual, to accommodate four talks.

Programme

Talks will be in the Mathematics Tower, Room 9.05; tea and informal discussion will take place in the Brian Hartley Room, floor 6. We will meet in the BHR for coffee from 1100AM onwards.

Both micro-courses are designed to be accessible to first-year postgraduate students ...

Lunch will be taken locally (at the vegetarian "On the Eight Day", for example), and we expect to visit a local curry house (or similar) early in the evening.

Everyone who wishes to participate is welcome: we shall operate the usual arrangements for assistance with travel expenses.
