Forty-sixth meeting of the Transpennine Topology Triangle
AT THE BRAND-NEW UNIVERSITY OF MANCHEstER
A welcoming TTT for new PhD students, and ...
FAREWELL TO THE MATHS TOWER!

Department of Mathematics
University of Manchester
Monday 18th October 2004

Programme

The talks will be in the Mathematics Tower, and the room(s) will be announced as soon as possible. We will meet for coffee from 1100AM onwards in the Brian Hartley Room, floor 6, and leave further directions there for those who come later. Lunch will be taken locally (at the vegetarian "On the Eight Day", for example), and we expect to visit a nearby curry house (or similar) early in the evening.

Titles and speakers are as follows.

This meeting is geared especially towards topology PhD students who are beginning their studies within the orbit of the TTT. Everyone who wishes to participate is welcome: we shall operate the usual arrangements for assistance with travel expenses. Please email Nige Ray nige@maths.man.ac.uk if you are interested in attending, so that we can cater for appropriate numbers.

The meeting is partially supported by a Scheme 3 grant from the London Mathematical Society.

How to get there

If you need help in finding the Mathematics (the tallest building on Oxford Road!), there is more information at the new University of Manchester's Homepage. We expect demolition of the building to begin in January; as the last meeting of the TTT within its walls, this promises to be a historic occasion!
